So, how does it sound? Many NSXs have been destroyed at the hands of the technically challenged to achieve sound quality and volume that isn't even close to this system. The system is well engineered, sonically accurate, and capable of very high and undistorted output, and is invisible to all but the trained eye. It is rare to have a setup this simple, with this quality of sound and function and at this price point. [except from Dali Racing] I give it 2 ears' up! So, what does it cost? There are many variables and options available.... larger/smaller amplifiers ... more/less expensive speakers and subwoofers.... flashier amplifier installations, GPS navigation, video, etc. The pricing reflected here is for the exact system detailed above. Installation Overview: The audio signal from the factory head unit Is massaged by the Soundgate interface mounted behind the radio. The signal Is then routed through twisted pair, gold connector signal cables to the Earthquake 120.2 amplifier mounted In the area In the trunk formerly holding the jack and tool kit. The amp is protected underneath a perforated steel shroud that is powdercoated black. The amplifier is configured to send 85 watts to each of the Diamond Audio speaker modules mounted via the factory mounting bolts In each door. These modules house the 1" aluminum dome tweeter, a 6.5" cast frame mid-bass/mid-range driver, and the very sophisticated crossover network that divides the frequencies and sends them to their respective speakers. The Eclipse 8708.8 subwoofer is mounted in a custom fiberglass enclosure that occupies approximately the same space that once held the little spindly plastic bag referred to as a "subwoofer" by the fine folks at Blas� (oops I mean Bose). This subwoofer receives 200 watts from the amplifier. All speaker and power cables are fine strand, OFHC cables. No NSXs were harmed during this installation.
