Things That Went Right:

  1. Shaving a set of "hot lap" only tires was good for 1-2 seconds depending upon the track and conditions.
  2. Pulling a support trailer was unfortunately a necessity to be competitive in touring.
  3. Its nice to be along with friends you can bum off of. (see #1 below)
  4. The Accusump preformed flawlessly.
  5. Big radiator with oil cooling seemed to work but we did over-heat twice.
  6. Customs front air ducts help avoid all break fade.
  7. Front splitter provided all the front grip gain we needed.
  8. Some Viper drivers are nice guys. :-)

Things That Could Have Gone Better:

  1. More (heck, any) shopping for non-race stuff, like food and drinks, would have been good.
  2. When installing a roll cage in a street car, close off all leaks to the engine compartment, fumes gets old after 200 miles.
  3. A low compression 6 doesn't make power to dominate.
  4. Accusump manual valve in the trunk is a pain in the rear.
  5. Gen One ABS doesn't allow you to dive into corners as deeply as you'd like without bias adjustment, need to reinstall valves.
  6. We have to get more rubber on the rear than 285, especially with a SC'd car.

Other Considerations and Musings:

  1. Guys in the motor homes looked more relaxed.
  2. You can deglaze brake rotors at the track with a hand held grinder.
  3. Moslers’ are light and fast but they break if you drive them off track.
  4. Don't order the "hot" chicken wings at any restaurant within 50 miles of a military base.
  5. Straight pipes + ARC = Ear plugs.
